Habit: Perennial tree

Root: Tap root system

Stem: Small to large tree

Flower: poliycarpic, small, inconspicuous

Fruit: Simple, drupe, fleshy

Economic Importance

• Mainly used as edible fruit
• The ripe fruits are eaten out-of-hand, made into chutney or fruit juice.
• Green fruits are made into pickles and are used to season various foods
