Main characteristics | Plant is erect, long and deep green, stolon dominant than stem, leaf green, upper portion of joint of leaf and petiole red color which is identifying character of this variety, crop duration 180-127 days, stolon tall 90-100cm, slight flat, light pink color, boil homogenously and comparatively lower calcium oxalate and free from acidity. This variety is cultivated all regions of Bangladesh. |
Planting season and time | Kharif 1 and February to March |
Harvesting time | Harvest start 2 month after transplantation up to 7 month. |
Yield | 25-30 t/ha stolon and rhizome 15-20 t/ha |
Dear Sir-would like know how I can cultivate Lati Panikachu. How to propagate. Is there any seeds? seedling, sucker. I am in south Africa. I got almost 35 acres wetland which is mostly moist in dry and winter season, can flood it. I can farm on 18 acres, have irrigation board water for flood farming. wish to have advice.

Thank you very much for your much interest in planting Lati Panikachu in South Africa. Normally sucker is used as propagating materials. Your land is suitable for cultivation of this vegetable.
