Triticale
Triticale is a crop developed by artificially hybridization from Durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L.) and Rai grass (Secale cereale L.). It is man –made- crop, high yielding, drought tolerant and stress tolerant because of it is produce by mix up of two different genus. Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI) released two variety namely, BARI Triticale-1 and BARI Triticale-2.

Main characteristics | BARI Triticale-1 is high yielding dual variety is having superior grains as well as green forage yielding ability and agronomic performance. It is a semi-dwarf triticale variety. Plant height medium 100-110 cm, plant deep green, very early variety. Grain white, glossy and large size, 1000 grain weight 45-50 g, life time 106-112 days but weeding after 40 days from crop transplant 9-10 days more for ripening. |
