About the Project

Herbarium and herbal museum are parts of botanic garden where the plant materials are preserved for identification, nomenclature and morphological studies. Recently, digital herbarium is introduced and gaining prominence for easy use and maintenance. Additionally, digital herbarium along with database on plant characters are being used for quick identification of plants. The department of Crop Botany, Gazipur Agricultural University former Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University has been completed a sub-project entitled "Establishment of Digital Herbarium and Herbal Museum for Improving Academic and Research Capability in Crop Botany" under the project Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), UGC, Ministry of Education funded by World Bank.
