Developed by Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI), Gazipur, Bangladesh.

Year of release 1993
Main characteristics Large deep blue flower with prominent vain. Last leaflet converted into trendily, leaflet are large in size, seed size larger than local one and give 40% higher yield than local variety, 1000 seed weight 48-52g, ODAP content 0.0137m/g. Plant deep green color and profuse no  branched.  It also cultivated and favorable throughout the whole Bangladesh.

Harvesting time Ripening time 125-130 days
Yield Yield 1.4-1.6 t/ha, yield of  BARI Khasari-1 40% greater than local variety.
Resistance/tolerance Tolerant to drought and salinity and also tolerant to powdery and downy mildew disease.
Quality of the product Food value in Khesari is high and ODAP toxin is lower than detrimental level.
