Method of development/originThe variety has been developed through millets improvement program from local collection of foxtail millet germplasm.
Year of release 2001
Main characteristics Stem is stout and strong enough to protect easy lodging. Plant height 120 cm, leaf green, broad and large. Panicles are comparatively long (20-25 cm) and large having prominent lobe and small awns. Seeds are round, bold and crème color.1000 grain weight 2.55 g, Yield comparatively 20% more than titas variety, crop duration 120-125 days.
Planting season and timeRabi: November 15 to December 25 in southern parts. It could be also grown in March 15 to April 15 as intercrop(Kharif).
