Main Features of the Variety

 

Developed byBangladesh Agriculture Research Institute(BARI), Gazipur, Bangladesh
Method of development/originThe variety was developed in Bangladesh and has been derived from population 27 and pool 25. The population is characterized with tropical late yellow flint.
Year of release 1990
Main characteristics It is a composite variety. Strong anthocyanin and 1st leaf sheath and medium pigmentation in leaf sheath at 2-leaf stage. High yielding variety, Plant height is tall (200-210cm)  than other variety as a results straw is greater, high-quality podder crop because after ripening of ear is green, stem is hard,  ears heavy , tall and grain fulfill in ear, Grain is glossy yellow and large, 1000 grain weight 180-300 g.

Harvesting timeRipening time require in rabi season 135-145 days and 95-105 days in karif season
YieldYeld in rabi season 5-5.5 t/ha and 3.5-4.5 t/ha in karif season
